「每早晨，這都是新的；祢的信實極其廣大！」感謝上帝的恩典，讓我們一眾師生在慕德這個充滿愛的大家庭，共同迎接新一個學年的開始。
回首過去超過四分之三個世紀，上帝一直恩領學校，讓我們可以與區內的莘莘學子同行，培育他們在不同範疇成長。身處二十一世紀的今天，社會與科技急速發展，教育正面臨前所未有的變革與機遇。作為一所基督教學校的校長，我深信：「每一位學生都是上帝的寶貝，擁有其獨特性和可塑性。」學校將致力在上帝的愛中，為同學們構建一個適宜學習與成長的環境，並以五個發展方向，引導同學發揮天賦，榮神益人。
(一) 智能學習，探索未來：於學與教中善用人工智能
科技發展一日千里，人工智能（AI）已成為推動現代社會進步的重要引擎。在學習上，學校將配合教育局發布的《中小學數字教育發展藍圖》，積極將人工智能技術融入課堂與教學，建立個人化的學習模式。透過不同的人工智能工具和平台，老師能更精準地掌握同學的學習進度，並提供適切的輔導；同學則可以打破時空限制，自主探索知識，提升自主學習的能力。然而，我們在擁抱科技的同時，更需重視智慧與道德。聖經《箴言》1章7節提醒我們：「敬畏耶和華是知識的開端。」人工智能是學習的有力輔助工具，卻無法取代人的思考、創造力與同理心。我們將教導同學以明辨性思維及合乎道德的方式使用科技，成為有智慧、有責任感的數字時代公民。
(二) 扎根學術，精益求精：追求學術卓越
學習是開啟智慧的基石，追求知識與真理更是我們突破界限、邁向卓越的展現。學校將致力提升課堂教學質素，建立嚴謹而富有啟發性的學習氛圍。我們不單注重學生的測考表現，更著重培育敏銳的思辨能力、探究精神與跨學科的應用能力，引導學生在學習上不斷突破自我。追求卓越並非為了與他人比較，而是學習發揮天父賜予我們的最大潛能。我們鼓勵每一位同學以認真、嚴謹的態度對待學業，建立深厚的學習根基。
(三) 勇於挑戰，不斷進步：培養成長型思維
面對多變的未來，擁有堅韌不拔的精神與積極的心態至關重要。學校將致力推動「成長型思維」（Growth Mindset），鼓勵同學視困難為成長的契機，視挫折為進步的階梯。成長並非一蹴而就，而是需要持之以恆的努力。我們希望每一位同學明白︰天賦只是起點，能力可以透過持續學習與嘗試來發展。只要勇敢踏出舒適圈，不畏懼失敗，上帝賜予我們的潛能必能漸漸顯明。
(四) 謙卑服侍，影響生命：培育僕人領袖素質
教育的目的不僅是傳授知識，更在於塑造品格。在這個強調自我與競爭的時代，學校將致力培育同學的「僕人領袖」（Servant Leadership）素質。主耶穌為我們樹立了最高尚的領袖榜樣，祂說：「正如人子來，不是要受人的服事，乃是要服事人，並且要捨命，作多人的贖價。」（《馬太福音》20:28）真誠的領袖並不取決於職位的高低或權力的大小，而是在於是否願意以謙卑、愛心和責任感去服務身邊的人，以生命影響生命。學校將提供多元化的領袖訓練與服務學習機會，讓同學們學習放下自我，關心社會，運用自身的能力為他人帶來正面的改變，成為社會的光和鹽。
(五) 愛中成長，彼此同行：建立關愛校園
上述各項發展，都必須建基於一個充滿愛與包容的校園環境。我們希望校園不單是求知識的地方，更是大家感到被接納、被重視的屬靈家園。《以弗所書》4章32節勸勉我們：「要仁慈相待，心存憐憫，彼此饒恕，正如神在基督裏饒恕了你們一樣。」學校今年以「處事寬仁」作為主題，積極推動全人關懷，強化師生之間的溝通，關注同學的心靈健康與精神福祉。我們鼓勵同學們學習彼此欣賞、互相支持，用愛心說誠實話，共同營造一個尊重差異、包容接納的關愛校園。
「教養孩童走當行的道，就是到老他也不偏離。」（《箴言》22章6節）這既是上帝給予我的使命，也是慕德中學全體教職員的共同信念。未來的道路或許充滿未知，但只要我們緊緊倚靠上帝的引導，懷着信心與盼望，必能攜手開創更美好的明天。願我們每一位慕德人都能在上帝的愛中快樂成長，迎接每一個新的早晨，在屬於自己的舞台上綻放光芒！

"They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!" We thank God for His grace, which allows our teachers and students to gather in this loving family of Queen Maud Secondary School to welcome the beginning of a new academic year together.
Looking back over the past three-quarters of a century, God has continuously guided our school, allowing us to walk alongside local youth and nurture their growth across various domains. In the 21st century, society and technology are advancing rapidly, presenting education with unprecedented transformations and opportunities. As the principal of a Christian school, I firmly believe that "Every student is God's precious creation, possessing unique individual qualities and potential." Our school will dedicate itself to building an environment conducive to learning and growth in God's love, guiding students to unleash their talents to glorify God and benefit others through five strategic directions:
(1) Smart Learning, Exploring the Future: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning
With technology developing by leaps and bounds, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a crucial engine driving modern societal progress. In alignment with the Education Bureau's Blueprint for Digital Education Development in Primary and Secondary Schools, the school will actively integrate AI technology into learning and teaching to establish personalized learning models. Utilizing various AI tools and platforms, teachers can monitor student progress with greater precision and offer timely guidance; students can transcend the boundaries of time and space to explore knowledge independently, enhancing their self-directed learning capabilities. However, while embracing technology, we must place greater emphasis on wisdom and ethics. Proverbs 1:7 reminds us: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. While AI is a powerful learning aid, it cannot replace human thought, creativity, or empathy. We will teach students to use technology with critical thinking and ethical awareness, helping them become wise and responsible digital citizens.
(2) Rooted in Academics, Striving for Excellence: Pursuing Academic Excellence
Learning is the cornerstone of unlocking wisdom, and the pursuit of knowledge and truth reflects our commitment to breaking boundaries and achieving excellence. The school will strive to elevate classroom learning, creating a rigorous yet inspiring atmosphere. Beyond assessment and examination performance, we focus on cultivating keen critical thinking, an inquiring spirit, and interdisciplinary application skills, guiding students to continually push past their limits. Pursuing excellence is not about comparing ourselves to others, but about unlocking our full God-given potential. We encourage every student to approach their studies with dedication and rigor, always striving for excellence.
(3) Embracing Challenges, Striving to Improve: Cultivating a Growth Mindset
In the face of an unpredictable future, possessing a resilient spirit and a positive attitude is paramount. The school will actively promote a "Growth Mindset", encouraging students to view difficulties as opportunities for growth and setbacks as stepping stones toward progress. Growth does not happen overnight; it requires sustained effort. We hope every student realizes that innate talent is merely a starting point, and capabilities can be developed through continuous learning and practice. When students step out of their comfort zones and embrace failure as a steppingstone, their God-given potential will gradually unfold.
(4) Serving with Humility, Impacting Lives: Nurturing Servant Leadership Qualities
The purpose of education is not merely to impart knowledge, but to shape character. In an era that emphasizes self-interest and competition, the school is committed to training students in "Servant Leadership." The Lord Jesus set the highest leadership example for us, saying: "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28). True leadership is not defined by rank or power, but by the willingness to serve those around us with humility, love, and responsibility. The school will provide diverse leadership training and service-learning opportunities, enabling students to set aside self-centeredness, care for society, and use their abilities to bring positive change to others, becoming the light and salt of society.
(5) Growing in Love, Walking Together: Building a Caring Campus
The foundation for all the above developments rests upon a campus environment filled with love and inclusivity. We hope our school is not only a place to seek knowledge, but also a spiritual home where everyone feels accepted and valued. Ephesians 4:32 encourages us: "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Centered on this year's theme, "Practicing Kindness and Generosity," the school will actively promote holistic care, strengthen teacher-student communication, and prioritize students' mental health and well-being. We encourage students to appreciate one another, offer mutual support, and speak the truth in love, jointly fostering a caring campus that respects differences and embraces diversity.
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). This is both the mission entrusted to me by God and the shared vision of all staff members at Queen Maud Secondary School. The road ahead may hold unknowns, but as long as we trust in God's guidance with faith and hope, we will join hands to create a brighter tomorrow. May every member of the Queen Maud community grow with joy in God's love and shine brightly on their own stage!
